A conference like no other.
Every year, The Rooted Retreat brings together Black and brown women leaders of the social sector in a fun, engaging experience to learn together, empower each other, connect to self on deeper levels and forecast what’s next personally and professionally.
Come “Bloom” with us and experience the beautiful island of Jamaica, at our host hotel, Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay.
The sprawling 350-room Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay is one of the more luxurious adults-only all-inclusive resorts along the beach in Jamaica, and it's located a convenient 20-minute drive from the airport. It has a laundry list of property features, including several ocean-view pools, 10 restaurants and cafes – Mexican, Asian, and Italian among them -- nine bars and lounges, and a full-service spa, nightly entertainment, and daytime activities. The “Unlimited-Luxury” all-inclusive package covers all dining, top-shelf liquor, 24-hour room service, non-motorized water sports, and fitness facilities. A dive center, shopping center, and casino round out amenities.
In addition to the onsite amenities, restaurants, and fitness facilities, the Rooted Retreat will participate in two off-site excursions.
Our goal is to help you cultivate your unique personal, professional, and wellness goals that will help you design and live a purpose-driven life.
The Rooted Collaborative®
The Rooted Collaborative ™ is a global community that exists to amplify and empower Black and Brown female voices in the social sector, while providing community, culture, and coaching that honors a healthy career experience. Our goal is to help you cultivate your unique personal, professional, and wellness goals that will help you design and live a purpose-driven life.
With a growing online community that spans over sixteen countries, including the U.S, Canada, the UK and South Africa, we’ve learned a thing or two about building relationships that extend beyond borders. It’s kinda our superpower.
The Rooted Retreat’s mission is to help you do one thing — cultivate your best self. We do this by gathering experts, practices, conversations, and engagements that lead your journey towards a healthy personal and professional life.
Last year's experience challenged our guests to reposition themselves at the center of their own lives by learning to cultivate their journey of self-exploration, joy, revelation, release, deep learning, and rest. Here, a yoga workout session is as much a rigorous morning exercise as it is a chance to reflect on the day ahead, and a professional development conversation is the means by which we learn to empower rather than simply “climb the corporate ladder”.
Through our programs, our goal is to help Black and Brown women leaders understand that they, too, can live a life that they respect and love, even if today’s society and workspace doesn’t always support it. Looking for a place to sow, cultivate, and flourish? Come grow with us, sis!
FROM OUR FOUNDER
As a Black woman who’s grown up in the social good space, I know the stress, demands, and microaggressions that Black and Brown women leaders face every single day. I also understand the power that comes in building genuine, solid relationships with other like-minded women and the amazingness that comes along with it. I spent most of my career forging a path alone and I realized it doesn’t have to be this way; we will go farther together. and I don’t expect you too, either.
That’s why the Rooted Retreat exists.
I wanted to create a space for you to be able to connect with women from all over the globe who look like you (because we ALL know how it feels to be the only “only” in the room), in a vibe that’s liberating and welcoming to the FULL you. Meaning, you can show up as you are and learn from where you stand. No muss. No fluff. No switching.
If you’re ready to sow and grow to the next level, grab your tickets and let’s get Rooted TOGETHER.
